Busisiwe Lurayi has passed away

Actress Busisiwe Lurayi has passed away. She was best known for playing the character of Phumzile on Ses Top la and City sesla which earned her a Safta for best-supporting actress in a comedy. She also appeared in many films and tv shows such as Generations, Sokhulu and partners, and the Netflix comedy how to ruin Christmas.

Her family released a statement it said,” We are deeply saddened to notify you of the passing of our beloved Busisiwe Lurayi, Busisiwe passed away suddenly and was pronounced dead at her residence on Sunday 10 July 2022 by medical personnel. The cause of her death is not yet known as we await the results of her autopsy results. We kindly ask you to please allow us as her family to come to terms with this tragic news. We thank you for the support you have given so far and we will provide further information as soon as it has been made available.”
