The late Mampintsha‘s memorial ceremony will take place at the Ethekwini Community Church (ECC) in Durban on December 29.

Pastor Vusi Dube, who officiated at the wedding of the celebrity and his wife Babes Wodumo and served as their marriage counselor on the reality series Uthando Lodumo, is the owner of the church.

Mampintsha passed away on December 24th, a Saturday, following a brief hospitalization. After suffering a stroke, he was taken to hospital and later transferred from King Edward Hospital in Durban to Durdoc Hospital. His record company West Ink Records issued a statement announcing his passing.

“Mandlenkosi Maphumulo, a husband, parent, musician, and CEO of West Ink has passed away. The public cannot be informed of the circumstances surrounding his passing,” they said.

Since then, tributes from followers, colleagues in the industry, and organizations have flooded social media. In a statement, the Department of Sport, Arts, and Culture (DSAC) expressed sympathy for his family.

“DSAC sends its sympathies to Mampintsha’s friends, family, professional associates, and supporters. His enormous impact on the South African music industry will be remembered,” they said.

Mampintsha will be remembered for his contributions to the Mzansi music business, said the Southern Africa Music Rights Organisation (Samro).

“Samro offers its sincere sympathies to Mandla ‘Mampintsha’ Maphumulo’s family, friends, and business associates in memory of the late member of the Big Nuz group. For his enormous contribution to the South African music industry, Mampintsha will always be remembered,” they said.

DJ Tira, a fellow artist, commented: “You bounced like a KING. superior in the game. Sponj, Shimora Baba, RIP, my brother.”

The burial will take place on Friday, December 30.
