Robert matriculated in Klerksdorp and graduated with a BA in Live Performance at AFDA. After completing his Matric, he left Klerksdorp to gain experience in Johannesburg.

Born in Klerksdorp, Robert’s first stage appearance was in the play Madeline En Sy Kinders when he was just seventeen.
