Fast and Furious 9 (originally known as The Fast and the Furious) is an American media franchise based on a series of action films that are largely concerned with illegal street racing, heists and spies. The franchise also includes short films, a television series, live shows, video games and theme park attractions. It is distributed by Universal Pictures.
Fast and Furious 9 plot: What’s Fast and Furious 9 about?
Most of the plot details are still under wraps, but what we know so far is that in F9, Dominic’s crew must team up to fight their most dangerous opponent yet, Dominic’s brother (played by series newcomer John Cena).
“This time, that threat will force Dom to confront the sins of his past if he’s going to save those he loves most. His crew joins together to stop a world-shattering plot led by the most skilled assassin and high-performance driver they’ve ever encountered: a man who also happens to be Dom’s forsaken brother, Jakob.”

Fast and Furious Release Date
The release for F9 is set for 21 May 2020. However, due to coronavirus, Fast and Furious 9 is the latest film to be pushed back and now be delayed by a year. It will now have an April 2, 2021 release date in the US, but nothing confirmed specifically for South Africa and other countries.
The cast features most loved stars and cast members like:
Vin Diesel as Dom Toretto,
Michelle Rodriguez,
Jordana Brewster,
Tyrese Gibson,
Ludacris,
Helen Mirren and
Charlize Theron.
Charlize Theron has been confirmed to continue her villainous role (sans dreadlocks) as Cipher, while Helen Mirren is back too as Shaw’s mother Magdalene.
We will also get to meet fresh faces who are set to grace the Fast & Furious screen. This includes rapper Cardi B, fresh off her acting debut in 2019’s Hustlers, is set to appear in the film although her role is not yet known. Also, we get to meet the wrestling icon John Cena who set to be part of the new film.
