Gomora is a South African television drama series produced by Seriti Films. It is an M-Net original production commissioned for M-Net’s local interest channel Mzansi Magic. The drama series replaces Isthembiso, which hasn’t been renewed for a fourth season.
Zodwa slides back to old ways
Having managed to stay sober for so long, a recovering alcoholic Zodwa gets tempted at MaSonto’s New Year’s Eve crossover party. Having been tormented by her stepdaughter Sibongile for murdering Don, Zodwa is pushed to the edge, and her downfall is on the cards. She turned into the shadow of herself, a behavior that shocked Bongani and Teddy, with Sibongile hitting instant regret.

Turned to Bongani’s Shisanyama, Zodwa landed in the wrong company of Sdumo and Brains, who dangle money and beer in her face for twerking and dancing.

Phumlani’s arrival in Gomora stirred controversy. He comes across as the late Mbongeni Ndaba’s brother who seeks to pursue a relationship with his brother’s widow and connect with Buhle, his niece. Phumlani’s dirty tricks and violent ways to get things done show more to his character. MaSonto, who encouraged her daughter Thathi to date Phumlani, becomes suspicious of the evil serpent who frequents her house. Sonto suspects that Phumlani came to Gomora to avenge his brother’s death.
Mazet Kidnapped? There is more to it, and Thathi is worried
The growing bond between Phumlani and Mazet worries Thathi. She leaves the Dlamini household to stay with Phumlani and gets reported as missing briefly. Phumlani’s move to make Thathi jealousy will work in his favor as planned till he gets what he wants. How did Melusi, who had Thathi first reacts to the new union?
The series tells the story of two families in two different lifestyles and how their lives intertwine by a tragedy. The series is filmed in the Alexandra township, hence the name of the series. Gomora airs Monday to Friday at 19h30 on Mzansi Magic.
